The brief
Aztech Soccer is Guernsey's hi-tech soccer skills arena, a training facility equipped with data-driven tools like the ICON, Precision Wall, Wireless Circuit, and R2 systems that track player accuracy, reflexes, and technique.
Aztech were reviewing partners to own their technology stack and managed services, alongside the design and build of a companion mobile app. As part of a competitive bid, we created this app concept to be included in our proposal, demonstrating our capability to unify their existing training technology, games, and player data into a single mobile experience.
My approach
With an 8hr turnaround window I kept the process lean:
Research & Discovery
I reviewed Aztech's existing products, services, and training systems to understand what data and features the app would need to surface.
I studied their existing documentation for the Elite Skills Arena platform, card management, leaderboard systems, database portals, and training modes, to ground the concepts in real functionality.
Visual Direction
I looked at Aztech's brand, marketing materials, and posters and pulled key elements into the concept work: the dark teal palette, geometric angular shapes, green accents, and the "Aspire. Aim. Achieve." tagline.
The UI leans into their existing visual identity with skewed, parallelogram-styled buttons and cards that echo the energy and angles found in their brand assets.

Login
Branded entry point using the Aztech logo, tagline, and the geometric footballer graphic from their marketing. Parallelogram-styled input fields establish the angular visual language carried throughout the app.
Home
A straightforward hub linking to the five main sections, Leaderboard, Notifications, My Scores, Competitions, and Profile, with notification badges to drive engagement.
Profile
Simple account management, view latest scores, view logged-in user, change password, logout.
Leaderboard
Players choose which training system to view rankings for: ICON, Precision Wall, Wireless Circuit, or R2. Each maps directly to Aztech's real arena equipment.
News
A central feed for arena updates, events, competitions, and offers.
Content is in reverse-chronological order and supports actionable items such as booking sessions or calling the arena, helping convert updates into real-world engagement.
Key Design Decisions
Angular UI elements
The skewed parallelogram buttons and card shapes aren't random; they're drawn directly from Aztech's brand and poster design language, giving the app an identity that feels native to the arena experience.
Dark teal palette
Matches Aztech's existing brand colours, creating visual continuity between the physical space and the digital product.
Data-first layouts
The leaderboards and scores screens prioritise scannability: rank, name, hits, misses. No unnecessary decoration.
Tab bar navigation
A persistent 4-icon tab bar provides quick access across the app, suited to the short, focused sessions players would have before or after training.
Outcome
The concept designs were delivered within the 1-day window to support the client proposal.
They demonstrated how Aztech's existing training data and systems could be extended into a mobile app that drives player engagement, competition, and repeat visits to the arena.
